Share On 2015 Holden HSV Hybrid Design Concept - Testing the Waters HSV testing the waters in Shanghai HSV Chief of Design and Styling, Julian Quincey, has just returned from a lightning trip to Shanghai to present at the ‘Interior Motives’ Conference – run in conjunction with this year’s Shanghai Auto Show. Quincey formed part of a Design Workshop panel discussing the latest developments in computer aided design, styling and design management processes, as a guest of Autodesk. HSV use a range of Autodesk’s software applications, including Alias, Maya and Showcase to design and illustrate the company’s range of luxury and performance vehicles. “We have been using Alias since 1999 as part of our automotive design and styling process with much success”, Quincey said. “The HSV car imagery used in our brochures are generated with the help of Maya software, while hsv.com.au uses Showcase software for applications like the HSV configurator. Showcase is also proving to be an invaluable design tool that we are increasingly using to evaluate differing design alternatives and to optimise quality of fit and finish on our products ” This application allows potential customers to ‘build their HSV’ using the full available colour palette and accessories options, via the HSV website.
