1988 BMW M5 black

The car you are viewing is a 1988 BMW M5 in exceptional condition. The M5 is a rare, collectible car that is a ball to drive. This car is a two owner car that has been owned by the current owner for since early 1999. As you will see in the pictures, the car is very well cared for. The current owner is a BMW enthusiast that needs to make room in the garage. It is one of the five BMW's they own. It spends the vast majority of time in the shelter of their garage. As the pictures depict, the car is essentially bone stock. The exterior of the car is in excellent condition with all of the VIN stickers still on the body panels. The paint is extraordinary good for the age with only minor imperfections due to acid rain. It is not noticeable but I want to be upfront about it. The shine on this car is tremendous and it is immediately apparent that it has not been abused. There is also a very small, shallow ding on the trunk lid which should be able to be removed by a competent paintless dent removal company. The car is perfectly straight down the sides and all of the panel gaps are excellent. I looked over the car thoroughly and could not find any evidence of paintwork or bodywork. This is substantiated as well by the presence of all the VIN stickers. None of the panels have ever been replaced. The interior of the car is amazing. I have seen 30,000 mile cars where the interior isn't even close to being this clean. The tan leather is beautiful without any rips, tears, cracking or dryness. The carpet and headliner are excellent as well. The only real imperfection is some cracking on the dashboard. It is not readily apparent if you are sitting in the car but can be seen when looking down on the dash. I have included a picture of the cracking so you know what it looks like. It is my understanding that the dash can be replaced for approximately $1,300. It is also possible to put a dash cap or cover on the dash, or you can just live with it. All of the electronics in the car work just as they should. The air conditioning blows ice cold. All of the power seat adjustments work properly with the exception of the headrests. The tires on the car are Yokohama AV1-50i, size 225/50ZR15. The fronts have plenty of tread left but the rears are close to the wear bars in the center of the tread. One wheel has a small curb mark on the outermost edge that is roughly 1 ½ inches long. The car runs out very strong and handles just as well. You won't be disappointed with the performance. Mechanically the car is in excellent condition and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country. Since my friends bought the car in 1999 they have been adamant about maintaining it. All of the work they have had done was at the local BMW dealership. Some of the work they have performed is listed below: · Replaced both lower control arms · Replaced both wishbones · Replaced right thrust rod and bushings · Replaced leaking transmission seals and shift shaft seals · Replaced front bushings with Dinan urethane bushings · Replaced water pump · Replaced leaking oil pressure switch · BMW Inspection II · Replace washer pump · Replace front pads and rotors · Replace rear rotors · Replace left rear shock · Replace right rear axle seal. Of course this partial list does not include everyday maintenance items such as oil changes, tires, etc. It is hard to convey how clean this car is through the pictures. You could practically eat off of the engine. When you see the car in person you immediately recognize how well it has been cared for. I have tried to be very honest in the representation of the car and expect people to return the courtesy by only bidding if you are serious about buying the car.
