1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad red / white This car represents the highest degree of excellence possible in a restored automobile. An outstanding restoration of an extremely desirable collector automobile, it is probably the best 1956 Nomad in the country! More than $60,000 of restoration costs has been invested into making this superb automobile a model of perfection. There are about 70 detailed pictures of the entire restoration process. This car was finished in June of 2000. There have been about 700 meticulous miles placed on this car since it was completed. Its factory equipment includes a 265 cu. In. small block V8, an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, an AM radio, two tone paint and dual exhaust system with chromed outlet tips. Here are some relevant facts about it's restoration: It has been restored to "concours" condition utilizing original and correct replacement components throughout. Prior to refinishing, the all steel body was hand fitted and detailed and the clear-coated two-toned original paint scheme has been polished to perfection. All exterior chrome is in perfect condition, having been either replaced or re-plated. The tinted body glass is new and damage free. All interior trim has been restored to showroom condition and the dash and instrumentation remains stock and fully functional. The original power-train has been rebuilt to its stock specifications without modification. It has all the safety related components which includes the suspensions, steering, brakes, and exhaust. The underside of the automobile and the undercarriage in general have been finely detailed and matched to the appearance of the exterior of this automobile. The tires are upgraded P215x75R14 Coker classic whitewall radials and these are mounted on original equipment wheels with caps and wire covers. Only 8,103 Nomads were manufactured in 1956. They were the "top of the line" Chevy in each of the three years they were produced. American "metal" from the 50's has become very desirable and represents the most collectible segment of the collector car market today.
