1973 Ferrari 246 GTS Dino is an original factory chairs and flairs car with power windows and air conditioning. (It is titled as a 1974 built June of 1973) European Collectibles purchased this vehicle as an original 32,884-mile car with original interior, motor and transmission. FAI in Costa Mesa, California performed a pre-purchase inspection: including compression and leak down test and were found to be excellent. A year long cosmetic and mechanical restoration was performed, including complete suspension rebuild, new shocks, rebuilt and re-bushed front end, stripped all suspension and frame with engine out to seal and epoxy prime and paint correct semi-gloss. Stripped and re-bushed rear suspension and install new shocks, replaced CV joints, removed radiator, re-cored with new and reinstall, removed belly pan, clean and seal frame and reinstalled belly pan. Removed all inner panels, stripped paint and reinstalled. Removed motor, removed transmission, rebuilt transmission with all new synchros and bearings. Removed heads. Inspected and replaced all exhaust valves and performed valve job. Inspected cylinder bore and found to be in excellent condition. Replaced timing chains, rebuilt water pump, rebuilt carburetors, surfaced flywheel, balanced flywheel clutch and pressure plate. Installed new stainless steel Tubi exhaust system. Rebuilt alternator, rebuilt starter motor, reassembled engine and transmission rebuilt distributors, pressure test overflow tank, detailed and reinstalled. Paint: Car was stripped to bare metal, rust repair performed on bottom of rear fenders only. No other rust or accident damage. Body metal finished, prepped for paint. All decks and doors pre-fit with new rubber, before disassembly, prepped and painted with PPG Concept 2000. Color sand/buffed, and reassembled with all original chrome, re-plated using only triple plate chrome along with all new rubber, new NOS windshield, original XWX 225 14 Michelin tires. Interior: Original interior was removed, dash removed, gauges removed and rebuilt. Dash covered with original mouse hair, door panels in leather, Daytona style seat redone in black leather with tan inserts, preserved original center console which is in mint condition. Preserved original rear panel with factory heat seal seams in original condition. All new carpeting, original headliner and visors in mint original condition. New carpet in trunk, correct felt on trunk lid, new rear panel, spare wheel compartment panel is new. The wire harness, wiper motor and front compartment was all completely detailed. Replaced all fuses in fuse block, rebuilt electrical system including horn. This Ferrari 246 GTS is detailed to full show room condition and it is an amazing 246 to drive!
